doot

Definition: A code-mixing term used by local Hong Kong students to scold someone when they are prohibited from swearing in school. At other times, it is used as an onomatopoeia of the beeping sound of Octopus card readers in Hong Kong train service.

frankly speaking

Definition: A code-mixing term that is used when you really care not to offend someone.

Usage: E.g. Frankly speaking呢,我覺得你唔夠quali囉。 E.g. Frankly speaking呢,我對你既印象麻麻地囉。 E.g. Frankly speaking呢,我覺得你好扮野囉。

fo

Definition: An abbreviated code-mixing term that Hong Kongers often use to refer to following someone on social media.

friendly
